The basic idea of geography curriculum in senior high school is to cultivate students' essential core literacy of geography subject,innovate learning methods and establish learning evaluation system based on geography literacy,so that students can really pay attention to contemporary population,resources,environment and development issues.The application of current events in geography teaching can make geography classroom full of vitality,geography can give full play to the role of training students.Therefore,it is very important to explore the relationship between current events and geography and how to apply hot current events materials in geography class.Through the literature analysis method,this thesis sorts out the current situation of the application of current events in geography teaching.Based on this,this thesis takes The elective compulsory course 2 of Shandong Education Edition as an example to analyze the relevance of current events with curriculum standards and textbooks,so as to determine the application of current events in the elective compulsory course 2 of Shandong Education Edition.The current events and corresponding geographic knowledge points that can be applied to geography teaching in 2020 and 2021 are summarized.The application strategy of current events is obtained.2 teaching cases were designed and 1 teaching case was implemented.The following conclusions are drawn:1.There is a strong correlation between the current events and the optional compulsory course 2 of Shandong Education Edition.There are 28 current events in the textbook,which are evenly distributed in the four units of the whole book,indicating that the current events are widely used in the optional compulsory course 2 of Shandong Education Edition.2.Current events can help students learn and help teachers teach.Teachers should make full use of various ways to collect hot current events materials,and sort out the collected current events,and analyze the geographical phenomena,geographical principles and geographical knowledge points contained in them.And the accumulation of the current events as the scene of the creation of geography exercises,using typical exercises to examine the geographical knowledge and geographical ability of students.According to the general arrangement steps of current events,draw the current events hot list.3.According to the curriculum standards,teaching materials and learning conditions,teachers should design the integrated current events into a form that students can accept and teachers can control and apply them to geography teaching,so as to promote the all-round development of students.
