Objective:Exploring the effect of yoga exercise on female college students' body composition, body shape and mental health. Methods:Analytical research was carried out using literature methods, questionnaires, experimental methods, and data analysis methods.Twenty female college students(age 19.57±0.54 years old)were used as experimental subjects, and yoga exercises were performed three times a week for 60 minutes each time.Using heart rate as a monitoring indicator of exercise intensity, the heart rate is controlled at 50%-70%of the maximum heart rate, and the experimental period is 10 teaching weeks. The body composition and body morphology of the subjects were measured before and after the experiment using Inbody770 body composition analyzer, including:body weight,BMI,body fat,fat-free body weight, visceral fat area, muscle mass, skeletal muscle, basal metabolic rate, body festival.Segment muscle mass, body segment muscle percentage, waist circumference, hip circumference, chest circumference, limb dimensions, etc. The Mental Health Questionnaire was conducted before and after the experiment using the Chinese College Students' Mental Health Scale.Results:(1)The body fat, body fat percentage, visceral fat area,fat-removing body weight, muscle mass, and skeletal muscle increase were significantly different from those before the experiment(p<0.01).The upper limbs and trunk of the experimental subjects were tested. There was a significant difference in muscle mass(p<0.01),but there was no significant difference in muscle mass in the left lower limb and right lower limb(p>0.05).The left upper limb, right upper limb, trunk, left lower limb,The fat content of the right lower extremity decreased, which was significantly different from that before the experiment(p<0.01).(2)The amount of muscle in the right upper limb before the experiment>The amount of muscle in the left upper limb, and there was a significant difference(p<0.01).There was no significant difference in the muscle mass between the left and right upper limbs after the experiment(p>0.05).There was no significant difference before and after the experiment(p>0.05).(3)After the experiment, the chest circumference increased slightly, and the waist circumference, hip circumference and upper arm circumference decreased slightly, but there was no statistical significance(p>0.05).After the experiment, the left thigh circumference and the right thigh circumference decreased.Significant difference(p<0.05).(4)Mental health factors after experimental subjects:anxiety, hostility, paranoia, somatization, poor psychological endurance, poor adaptability, psychological imbalance, and emotional imbalance were all significantly lower than before the experiment(p<0.05);and the changes in interpersonal tension and sensitivity and depression were not statistically significant(p>0.05).Conclusions:(1)Yoga exercise has a positive effect on reducing female body fat, visceral fat, increasing fat body weight and upper limb and trunk muscle mass, and helps to improve the body composition of female college students.(2)Yoga exercise can improve the lateral asymmetry of the left and right muscles of the upper limbs and maintain the lateral symmetry of the left and right muscles.(3)Yoga exercise can reduce the circumference of the thigh and shape the leg.(4)Yoga exercise has a positive effect on regulating female college students' psychological imbalance and emotional disorders, and can improve the mental health of female college students.
