Mu Jibo(1892-1987),a important figures in the field of Chinese education research in the early 20th century in China,a distinguished Chinese language educator in the Republic of China,and a promoter of vernacular Chinese textbooks in middle schools.Mu Jibo has devoted himself to education since 1918s and has been devoted to the research and reform of Chinese language education in middle schools.His education proposals during his teaching period have strong practicality and pertinence.His educational practice had a great influence on the reform of Chinese education in middle schools in the 1920s.The full text is divided into five parts.The introduction mainly introduces Mu Jibo's life and the research significance of his Chinese education thought,and classifies and reviews the academic achievements of studying Mu Jibo.The first section mainly discusses Mu Jibo's view of the Chinese curriculum.In terms of the nature of the course,Mu Jibo proposed that Chinese be a tool and pay attention to the humanity of the language;in terms of the objectives course,Mu Jibo proposed five goals including life education,national education,national education,social observation and collaborative spirit;In terms of the setting of the course,Mu Jibo reformed and improved the six-year curriculum system in middle school.The second section mainly discusses Mu Jibo's opinion of the Chinese textbooks.Mu Jibo proposed the method of dividing classical Chinese texts and vernacular Chinese texts,which solved the contradiction in the mixed texts of classical Chinese and vernacular Chinese.he personally participated in the preparation of textbook,and introduced reading aid systems and homework systems in the textbook,providing two complete sets of textbook for middle school students at that time.The third section mainly discusses Mu Jibo's idea of the Chinese teaching methods,Mu Jibo proposed a method for students to study the Chinese language by themselves,break up the text by themselves,and a method of cultivating students' ideology in Daltonian teaching.The fourth section mainly analyzes and evaluate Mu Jibo's Chinese education thought comprehensively,and in combination with the current Chinese teaching status,explores the inspiration of Mu Jibo's Chinese education thought to contemporary Chinese teaching reform.
