STEM education originated in the United States,and now has attracted great attention from all over the world.Stem education is an interdisciplinary education that integrates science,technology,engineering and mathematics.The idea of STEM education is to use the knowledge and mathematical tools flexibly to solve practical problems in life on the basis of students profound understanding of what they have learned,in this process,students don't master the skill of a single subject,but comprehensive skills,so educators should pay more attention to the internal links between disciplines.This paper first introduces the related theories of STEM education,on the basis of which,it makes an investigation and research on the STEM education in the middle school education teaching in Yan 'an area,and probes into the strategies of promoting the STEM education in the physics teaching of senior middle school,this paper designs two teaching cases based on the STEM education idea,and hopes to provide reference for the domestic researchers of physics teaching in high school based on the STEM education idea.This article is divided into five parts:In the first part,the background and significance of high school physics teaching research based on STEM education concept are expounded,and the related research situation at home and abroad is analyzed and summarized.The second part introduces the connotation of STEM education,this paper studies interdisciplinary,practical,contextual,designed and cooperative characteristics of STEM education in physics teaching of Senior High School,and dependent,heuristic,innovative,open and dynamic principles that STEM education should follow in physics teaching of Senior High School,on this basis,it explores the problem oriented learning model,project-based learning model,5E teaching model and UIRDE teaching modelunder the STEM education idea.The third part,carries on the investigation and research to the Yan 'an area middle school education teaching,launches from the students' level and the teachers' level.A survey of students' STEM literacy found that students are strongly interested in STEM education,but STEM thinking and abilities are relatively poor;teachers generally understand STEM education,but most do not know the philosophy of STEM education,fewer teachers are able to apply STEM education to physics teaching in high schools.It lays a foundation for putting forward the measures of advancing STEM education in high school physics.The fourth part,on the basis of theory and investigation,puts forward five concrete measures: the development of curriculum resources,the training of teachers,the participation of students,the system of multiple assessment,and the support and participation of the whole society,to promote the implementation of STEM education in high school physics teaching.The fifth part,based on the idea of STEM education,designed the teaching cases of "water rocket" as the project and "friction" as the 5E teaching model,in order to stimulate students' interest in STEM education field,cultivating students' comprehensive STEM literacy.
