Research On The Application Of Illustrations In Junior Middle School Physics Textbooks

With the progress of science and technology and the development of society,paper-based reading has gradually faded out of people's vision,while film and television based reading is increasingly respected by readers.Due to the limitations of teaching conditions,and in order to ensure the smooth teaching process,the school can not provide students with audio-visual materials.As a kind of picture reading material,illustrations are easy to attract people's attention in large paragraphs of text and arouse more people's curiosity about the article.However,textbook illustrations are not effectively used by students and teachers in the current teaching.In this case,the author uses literature method,questionnaire method and text analysis method to study the current situation of textbook illustrations used by students and teachers in a junior high school in H City,and summarizes the characteristics,classification and functions of textbook illustrations,as well as the emergence of textbook illustrations used by teachers and students in school.The corresponding optimization strategy is proposed.This paper is divided into the following three parts:The first part is the theoretical part of the thesis,which mainly studies the domestic and foreign scholars' research on the textbook illustration,and discusses the benefits of textbook illustration to physics teaching from the 2011 compulsory education physics curriculum standard,cognitive learning theory,constructivism learning theory and psychological basis.The second part of the junior high school physics textbook illustration characteristics,classification and function of research statistics.The author finds that the illustrations of teaching materials have the following characteristics: diversity of forms,richness of colors,logical meticulous,experimental guidance and situation reproducibility.According to the different positions of illustrations in teaching materials,illustrations can be divided into chapter catalog diagram,text diagram and exercise diagram after class;according to the different forms and structures of illustrations,illustrations can be divided into story situation diagram,physics history diagram,science and technology life diagram,instrument diagram,experiment data diagram,natural landscape diagram,single type illustration and composite type illustration.At last,the function of textbook illustration is summarized.The author finds that textbook illustration can stimulate students' interest in learning,help students understand the laws and problems of physics,help students review the experimental process and methods,and enrich students' life experience.The third part is to design the questionnaire,and distribute and recycle the questionnaire to teachers and students.The author uses SPSS software to analyze the results of the questionnaire.It is found that: in the teaching process,teachers use the textbook illustration in a single form;some teachers fail to combine the textbook illustration and knowledge points perfectly,do not dig the textbook illustration in depth,only pay attention to the surface of the textbook illustration;Some teachers neglect the position of textbook illustrations in the test questions,only pay attention to whether students can improve their academic performance,and do not pay attention to the cultivation of students' ability to read pictures.The statistical analysis of the students' questionnaire shows that: most of the students are interested in the illustrations of the teaching materials,and think that the illustrations of the teaching materials can attract attention;some of the students think that the number of illustrations of the teaching materials is too small,they can't contact the reality of life,and they can't distract attention;some of the students don't pay enough attention to the illustrations of the teaching materials,it also failed to preview and review the illustrations in the textbook in time.In view of the problems existing in the use of textbook illustrations by teachers and students,the author puts forward the optimization strategies from the perspectives of textbook layout,teachers and students.
