Case Study On Social Support Services For Urban Elderly Immigrants

With the increase of the number of the Elderly immigrants,people pay more and more attention to their social support.Elderly immigrants move from the familiar countryside to the unfamiliar city,their social support in the process of urban life is very weak.The research on the social support subjects of the Elderly immigrants with the professional method of social work is conducive to improving the weak part of the social support of the Elderly immigrants.It is of practical significance to improve the quality of life for the Elderly immigrants.Taking Elderly immigrants Y as the case service object,according to the social support theory,using the interview method,the action research method and the participatory observation method,the social support situation of Elderly immigrants is involved in the case.At the stage of case reception and estimation,we learned about the existing social support of the client of the case Y,and analyzed the problems that the client faced main problems were family communication problems,personal physical problems and insufficient peer support.At the intervention stage of the plan,according to the existing problems of the case owner,the case service scheme was formulated and implemented to increase the self-support of Elderly immigrants Y case owner,improve the family relationship,establish peer support and promote the community integration.At the stage of case closing and evaluation,the client and the worker are evaluated to find out the changes of the client before and after the intervention.It is found that the demand-oriented intervention in the social support of the Elderly immigrants is effective,and good social support can help the Elderly immigrants spend their old age peacefully.In the stage of summary and reflection,the deficiencies of individual intervention are summarized and corrected in time.In order to improve the social support network for the aged of Elderly immigrants and explore a set of experience and methods of social work intervention.
