The Ministry of Education's "Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of High-Level Undergraduate Education and Comprehensively Improving Talent Cultivation Ability" stated that undergraduates are the largest group of high-quality specialized talents,undergraduate education is an important foundation for improving the quality of higher education.The undergraduates' attitudes towards professional learning and their degree of professional recognition will directly affect the four-year university learning experience and future career development.Therefore,the research on undergraduates' professional identity gradually attracts the attention of scholars.As a "marginal subject",pedagogy has always been controversial and questioned.Compared with students of "hot majors",the current situation of undergraduate students majoring in education is more worthy of attention.This study takes undergraduates majoring in education at H Normal University as the research object.On the basis of reading a lot of literature,it clearly divides the four dimensions of professional identity:professional cognition,professional behavior,professional emotions and professional goals.Questionnaires and interviews were conducted to investigate the status of the professional identification of the undergraduates.Using statistical methods to analyze the data,sum up theoverall situation of professional identity and the differences in different dimensions of professional identity of different variables such as different grades,genders,and professional choice methods and internship.Finally,through the results of the questionnaire survey,four typical cases were selected for specific analysis.The findings of this study are as follows:First,through the data analysis of the questionnaire survey,it is found that the professional identity of the undergraduates of H Normal University's education major is at the lower middle level.Among them,professional cognition score is the highest and professional emotion score is the lowest.There is a significant difference in professional identity among different grades,different voluntary choices and internship experience,and there is no significant difference in different genders.Secondly,through interviews with four typical cases,it is found that the main reasons that affect the professional identity of undergraduates.They are : Individual's professional choice and characteristics;school professional curriculum,teacher team,campus atmosphere,infrastructure,cultural activities;professional recognition and employment prospects in a broad society.Finally,this research combines the results of questionnaire surveys and interviews to propose relevant promotion strategies from the three levels of students themselves,schools and society.It is hoped that through the joint efforts of different subjects,the development of pedagogy majorwill be promoted,and the professional identity of undergraduates majoring in pedagogy will be enhanced.
