With the continuous development and change of the world,the requirements for teachers' professional development are also constantly changing.Geography teacher is an important carrier to achieve the goal of geography teaching,help citizens learn the necessary basic geography knowledge and promote the innovation and progress of geography education.And young geography teachers are the main force of geography teaching.How to better help young geography teachers realize the professional growth and development as soon as possible is an important content of the research on the professional development of geography teachers.The professional development of geography teachers is more about their own professional development.Therefore,how to improve their own professional levels is an important problem that every young geography teacher needs to solve.Based on the questionnaires of young geography teachers in some middle schools of Yunnan Province,this paper analyzes the current situation and differences of their self-professional development,finds out the current main problems,summarizes the main factors that affect their self-professional development,and puts forward some suggestions of helping them realize their self-professional development,aiming at helping young geography teachers acquire self-professional development,improve their professional quality and professional levels,thereby better promoting the improvement of quality education of geography.This paper consists of six parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,objective,significance,methods and technical ways.The second part is the theoretical basis and research summary.The theoretical basis of this paper includes cognitive learning theory,behaviorism learning theory,humanism learning theory,lifelong learning theory and demand level theory.At the same time,with access to a large number of literature,this paper clarifies the research status of teachers' professional development,geography teachers' professional development and teachers' self-professional development at home and abroad.And on this basis,it compares the differences and connections between teachers' professional development and teachers' self-professional development,which provide theoretical support and reference for the research.The third part is the investigation results and analysis.In this study,a self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the current situation of the self-development of young geography teachers in Yunnan Province.The investigation was divided into two parts: first,the basic situation of young geography teachers was investigated,including the teachers' gender,education background,school,school type,teaching age,professional title,and the curriculum arrangements,etc.Secondly,the self-professional development of young geography teachers was investigated,mainly from the aspects of the professional self-awareness,self-learning,self-reflection,self-planning,self-demands,etc.And then it analyzes the current situation and differences of the investigation.The fourth part is the analysis of problems and influencing factors.Combined with the results of the above investigation and analysis,the main problems of young geography teachers in the process of their self-professional development are found out as follows: 1.Lack of motivation for professional self-learning with marked differences;2.Weak awareness of professional self-planning;3.Lack of professional self-reflection;4.Great conflict between professional self-demands and reality.This paper summarizes the factors that affect the self-development of young geography teachers,including three internal factors: emotional factors,consciousness factors and ability factors,as well as external factors such as national policies,learning atmosphere,teaching material resources and conditions,school management system,and professional leading and so on.The fifth part is the suggestions.Combined with the problems and influencing factors of the self-professional development of young geography teachers,this paper puts forward some suggestions to promote the development of young geography teachers.The main suggestions are as follows: 1.Firmly establish the self-awareness of professional development;2.Have high reflective consciousness and form the good habit to reflect;3.Use the information technology to improve professional competence;4.Be mutually interacted with teaching and research and improve the scientific research capacity;5.Make professional planning and define the direction of development;6.Face up to self-demands and find a suitable way of professional development;7.Appropriately relax the state-owned teacher system and increase the proportion of teachers;8.Pay attention to the beginning teachers and revive the newly emerging force;9.Set up a backbone teacher team and gather professional leadership.The sixth part is conclusion.This paper summarizes the main conclusions and deficiencies of the research.It is expected that the research can be improved continuously,aiming at providing more suggestions and help for the professional development of young geography teachers in the confusion.
