With the times developed,we have already entered an era of reading pictures,which has more demands for the quality of students and art education.A good class needs to continuously adopt new things,therefore,it is not just limited to curricula of art material any more when new art education resources are actively explored and discovered.An educator should be active in practical exploration and look for and develop new,rich and valid curriculum resources,wherein a picture book belongs to a proper art education resource.The illustrated picture book has unique appearance design,elegant pictures,ingenious composition of a picture,rich colors,meaningful and implied story content and diverse cultural knowledge concepts,can be regarded as integrated artwork integrating multiple educational values,attracts attention of children and gains popularity,thereby laying the feasible education practice foundation for art teaching and also supporting more abundant teaching resources for art courses.The writer aims to apply the picture book as the teaching resource to the art classes of junior grades in the primary school,to actively explore the teaching relation between the picture book and the four learning fields of art curriculum standards,to take “putting people first” as an important teaching objective concept,to actively realize the highest teaching value of the picture book,and to explore corresponding art curricula so as to form a connected integrity,contributing to the development of students' comprehensive ability.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter discusses the background and significance of the research project,national and international research statuses,research content and method,and innovation of the paper and introduces the researchtheory and actual research condition foundation of the paper.The second chapter defines the concept of the picture book,analyzes the kind and art characteristic of the picture book,and determines the value effect relation between the picture book and teaching,thereby guaranteeing scientific and reasonable screening for the picture book before teaching and screening out a picture book resource suitable for art teaching and capable of promoting development of students.The third chapter discusses the strategy of screening out the picture book and is divided into three sections,aiming to screen out the picture book suitable for development of students.The first section introduces the theoretical principle for screening out the picture book and combines the reform and development requirements of art curricula in the new times,as the background basis with the education spirit focusing on putting people first of art,as a screening principle to serve as the times background foundation and theoretical condition of screening out the picture book.The second section investigates and analyzes the situation of Yidu International School,carries out sampling questionnaire survey on students of junior grades in the primary school of Yidu International School and art teachers of all districts in Guiyang,and decides the curriculum teaching design concept accorded with picture book teaching and suitable for development of students according to result analysis.The third section introduces and analyzes curriculum design concept for practical exploration of picture book teaching and is divided into five points,namely development of the picture book resource,teaching environment,development of comprehensive ability,teaching evaluation and personal growth.The fourth chapter is mainly to study the teaching practice of the picture book in the art classes of junior grades in the primary school,which requires that teachers abide by‘four art curriculum standards',takes the development principle of putting people first as a teaching purpose,and explores teaching practice in the aspects of ‘knowledge and skill-learning them to experience the operation pleasure,living knowledge-using them to realize the fascination of the life,and personality belief-adopting the behaviour and mind to explore unknown expression'.The fifth chapter introduces research results and problems of picture book teaching and relevant suggestions,and more comprehensively re-recognizes,re-thinks,re-understands and re-analyzes further research in the later period of picture book teaching.
