| Since the opening of primary schools for working-class children in the late 18 th century,the British education system has developed through continuous reforms.In the first half of the nineteenth century,the state began to intervene in education.Since then,as education budgets have continued to increase,education has gradually become a central priority of the policy agenda.The British government in different periods has formulated a series of initial teacher training policies under different political and economic conditions.This article mainly analyzes the British socio-economic situation and government strategy as the background,and discusses the development of British initial teacher training policy from three aspects: teacher training institutions,teacher certification systems and teacher training courses.In the post-war period,initial teacher training has gone through a period of expansion and change.The College of Education has played the role of the College of Education.The training course has been extended from two to three years.The National Academic Awards Committee acts as a verification agency for teacher training.The Thatcher government introduced more control and reform policies,introduced training course certification standards,and established a teacher education certification committee.The central government's control over initial teacher training was further strengthened.The New Labour Government has introduced more standardized,school-based initial teacher training policies,developed a national curriculum for initial teacher training,and introduced flexible employment-based teaching routes for school-centered initial teacher training has provided support to make teacher training more school-based.The study found that the development of initial teacher training policies in the UK shows such a trend,from focusing on the quantity of initial teacher training to focusing on the quality of initial teacher training,from focusing on the theory of initial teacher training courses to focusing on initial teachers The practice of training courses,from the predominance of initial teacher training in higher education institutions to school-centered initial teacher training,all reflects the impact of different government strategies on the development of initial teacher training policies. |
