Traditional courses classify knowledge into different categories for teaching,puts great emphasis on the logic,sequence and system of knowledge,resulting in the separation of knowledge in different disciplines and the separation of knowledge from children's lives and social life.With the continuous development of society and the gradual deepening of curriculum reform,the disadvantages of traditional departmental teaching are increasingly exposed.The integration of courses that can make up for the shortcomings of traditional departmental teaching has gradually been favored by many experts and scholars.Many course experts and education practitioners have begun to integrate thematic teaching model,which fully reflects the idea of curriculum integration,and increasingly use it in school education and teaching practice.This study takes S elementary school as the research object,centering on the core question of "how do case schools carry out thematic teaching",using literature research methods,text analysis methods and interview methods to research thematic teaching implementation while focusing on case school thematic teaching on such aspects: motivation,process,effect and guarantee conditions of the implementation of the project.This paper also reflects on the problems in the implementation of the thematic teaching in the case school,and puts forward suggestions to promote the deepening of the thematic teaching in the case school.Through investigation,it is found that the motivations for the implementation of the thematic teaching model in case schools are mainly to conform to the trend of curriculum reform,the call for internal development of the school,and the drive for the comprehensive development of students.The case school implements the thematic teaching according to the procedure of "selection of thematic--establishment of the goal of the thematic teaching--design of the thematic teaching--thematic teaching implementation--evaluation of the thematic teaching".After the implementation of thematic teaching,the students in the case school have developed their knowledge,ability,thinking and emotion,which are manifested in the following aspects: a broader horizon and vision,improved ability of independent,cooperative and exploratory learning,developed creative thinking,and increased interest in learning and confidence.The guarantee conditions for achieving these effects mainly rely on taking into account thematic knowledge and student interest when choosing the theme;establishing a goal by combining comprehensive curriculum standards and students' condition;cohesion of teachers when designing the thematic teaching plan;the bridge of collective lesson preparation and learning sheet and multiple evaluation methods.The implementation of the thematic teaching in the case school has achieved gratifying teaching results,but there are still many problems in the implementation process: the school lacks the conditions and confidence to carry out the thematic teaching;the teachers' curriculum integration ability is insufficient;the depth of the thematic teaching needs to be improved;some parents are skeptical about the thematic teaching.In order to promote the deepening of the thematic teaching in case schools,the following work should be done: improve the top-level design of the curriculum and reduce the resistance to the implementation of the thematic teaching;enhance the teacher's integration ability and promote the development of the thematic teaching;increase student participation and promote the in-depth integration of the curriculum;actively expand external resources to assist in the implementation of thematic teaching.
