Employment is about the quality of life of the people and the long-term stability of society,So the issue of employment has been receiving a lot of attention.Since the expansion of colleges and universities in 1999,universities have gradually changed from a mode of recruiting only elites to a mode of accommodating more students,resulting in uneven quality of college students,sharp increase in pressure for graduate employment competition,and the topic of difficult employment for college students,became the focus and hot spot of social attention.The key to the quality of college students' employment can be measured by employment performance.Therefore,the first thing to solve the employment problem of college students is to improve employment performance.Based on previous studies showing that the Big Five personality can predict performance very well,this article explores the impact of the five dimensions of personality on the employment performance of college students from the unique perspective of the Big Five personality,and how to develop targeted “employment personality”provided theoretical guidance.Based on the previous theories and research results,this study uses the Big Five personality as the independent variable and demographic factors as the control variable to explore the influence of personality on employment performance.The research object is students from eight universities in Hunan within three years of graduation,and surveyed them using questionnaires and sample interviews.A total of 207 valid questionnaires were collected and 12 subjects were interviewed.Aftertesting the reliability and validity of the questionnaire,correlation analysis was performed by factor analysis,and regression analysis was performed by ordinary least squares.This study finds that the five dimensions of the Big Five personality have a significant impact on the employment performance of college graduates.The variables will affect each other and the correlation has some different characteristics,as follows: Firstly,pleasantness,conscientiousness,openness,and extroversion have a significant positive impact on process performance.In other words,the more college graduates with the characteristics of pleasantness,conscientiousness,openness and extroversion,the smoother and shorter the time it takes to find a job.Secondly,pleasantness,conscientiousness,openness,and extraversion have a significant positive impact on outcome performance.In other words,the more college graduates with pleasant,conscientious,open,and extroverted qualities,the more satisfied they are with the job search results,and the more willing they are to develop in that position for a long time.All in all,pleasantness,conscientiousness,openness and extraversion have a significant positive impact on employment performance.In other words,college graduates who want to obtain better employment performance when looking for a job need to show their pleasant,conscientious,open and extroverted characteristics,and also need to cultivate these characteristics in peacetime.It can be seen that the employment performance of graduates with pleasant,conscientious,open and extroverted traits will be relatively higher.Therefore,to improve the employment performance of graduates,it is necessary to strengthen the cultivation of college students' "employment personality",mainly from the perspective of universities and individuals.From the perspective of colleges and universities,the first is to set "personality standards" for independent enrollment and set clear directions for talent selection in colleges and universities.Secondly,the training of talents provides a "personality course" to lay the foundation for talent training in colleges and universities.Thirdly,provide "personal guidance" for graduate employment,laying the foundation stone for employment of college talents.From a personal point of view,first of all,when attending college,participate in social practice and internships to cultivate the personality traits that companies love.Moreover,when looking for a job,show your personality traits so that the interviewer can see the traits the company needs.
