"True education is to inspire students to self-educate." The "people-oriented" educational concept puts emphasis on the role of human beings and highlights the initiative of students in education. Therefore, guiding students to carry out self-education has become an urgent concern of the education community.Left-behind children in overseas Chinese villages face the special situation of separation of parents and children. The existence of various dilemmas in the growing process makes the role of self-education more prominent, and guides them to improve their self-education ability, which can help them to cope with various dilemmas from the source and achieve healthy development. In order to understand the self-education of left-behind children in the hometown of overseas Chinese in zhejiang province, this study adopted qualitative research methods into the overseas left-behind children Q county,Zhejiang province. The interview outline was designed from four aspects: self-awareness,self-requirement,self-regulation and self-evaluation,and a survey of 19 children in Q County was conducted to obtain rich first-hand information. This study sorted out and analyzed the acquired data, reproduced the self-education experience of the research object in the process of growing up,summarized the characteristics of self-education of the left-behind children in the hometown of overseas Chinese, and summarized their growing difficulties and coping strategies. The study found that the self-education of the left-behind children in the overseas Chinese villages in Zhejiang province is not good, showing that the self-knowledge of the left-behind children is hovering between the reality and the ideal, the autonomy and self-reliance of the self-requirements are lacking, the self-regulation ability is notstrong,is susceptible to the influence of bad emotions, and the self-evaluation is positive and negative.Their growing difficulties are mainly the "pressure" and "achievement" in study, the alienation of parent-child relationship caused by the absence of parents' role, the "pet" parenting and "stick" education of grandparents, the difficulty of integrating into peer communication and bullying, and the occurrence of accidents. The main coping strategies they adopt are the following: set goals and make up for them;vent their emotions and adjust their psychology;be grateful and considerate of their elders;rely on themselves and choose for help;escape from reality and deny themselves.
