Since the beginning of the 21 st century,improving the management and training of graduate teaching assistants has become one of the key points for improving the quality of graduate education in China.However,the development of the postgraduate teaching assistant system in China still faces many challenges,which are mainly reflected in five aspects: the mismatch between the training objectives and the needs of students,the lack of communication in the decentralized management system,the irregular selection and appointment procedures,the low participation of the quality assurance subjects,and the floating quality evaluation system.The scientific nature of the practice of graduate teaching assistant in the United States lies in the fact that the construction of the internal quality assurance system in colleges and universities carries out the requirements of the new institutionalism of organizational sociology and the humanistic learning theory.This research provides theoretical support for the deepening reform of the internal quality assurance system of graduate teaching assistants in China,and ultimately helps gradually improve the quality of graduate education in China.Based on the logic of determining the research problem--defining the concept and theoretical basis--analyzing the research background--exploring the research object--case study--comparing the enlightenment from practice,this paper makes a comprehensive study on the internal quality assurance system of American graduate teaching assistants.The specific content is divided into six parts: Chapter One,introduces the research background and significance of this article,clarifies the results obtained at home and abroad and the issues that remain to be studied,then determines the research ideas and methods of this article.The second chapter defines the concept of the internal quality assurance system of graduate teaching assistants in the United States,and systematically introduces the theoretical basis supporting the full text and the applicability of the theory.The third chapter analyzes the process ofinstitutional change,including the generation,interaction,and transformation of various institutional elements through exploring the three stages of institutional construction,institutional development,and institutional maturity of graduate teaching assistants in the United States.The fourth chapter,according to the three basic elements of the system proposed by the new institutionalism of organizational sociology,constructs the analytical framework of the system essence,input link,training process and output link,and summarizes the current situation of the internal quality assurance system of graduate teaching assistants in the United States.In chapter 5,Stanford university,Berkeley are selected as cases to deeply understand the essential features of the internal quality assurance system of graduate teaching assistants in the United States.Chapter six,the same institutional analysis framework as before,based on the current status of the implementation of postgraduate teaching assistant positions at the N university in China,analyzes the problems and main causes for the current internal quality assurance system of domestic graduate teaching assistants,and summarizes the enlightenment and suggestions based on relevant US experience.This paper comprehensively uses the literature research method,case study method,comparative research method,and interview method to analyze the historical changes and institutional framework of the internal quality assurance system of graduate teaching assistants in the United States.The article finds that the elements of the system have three characteristics,namely,obtaining the legitimacy of the system development based on the student-oriented training concept,implementing the quality management guarantee system at different levels and cooperating,and standardizing and guiding the system environment to carry out the training process of individual diversity.In addition,comparing the current practice of the N university in China,we can draw the enlightenment from the research on the internal quality assurance system of American graduate teaching assistants to promote the optimization of the system in China,which is mainly to cultivate a student-centered quality culture,regulate the quality assurance system in the input link,attach importance to the system of the training process management,and improve the quality evaluation mechanism in the output link.
