Research On Emotional Management Of Vulnerable Children In Social Work Participation

At present,there are a large number of children in various kinds of difficulties in China.Among them,the number of left-behind children is as high as 58 million,the number of orphans is as high as 570,000,and the number of unsupported children is up to610,000.Affected and restricted by various internal and external factors,vulnerable children are prone to problems in behavior and psychology due to long-term physical and mental stress,among which emotional management is more concerned.Emotional management of vulnerable children is a kind of ability and process.It is an individual's ability to recognize the emotions of himself and others,the ability to understand the causes of emotions and the meaning they convey,and to make himself and others in a healthy emotional state through emotional regulation.In this study,we focused on vulnerable children in grades 4 to 6 of Y Village A Primary School in X County,Henan Province,and used a professional child emotional management scale to measure the emotional management of vulnerable children in the village.Through observing and interviewing vulnerable children,parents and teachers,we have grasped the causes of vulnerable children's emotional management problems.In response to their actual needs,under the guidance of ABC theory,they used group work methods to start from the three dimensions of emotion recognition,emotion understanding,and emotion regulation to provide social work services for Seven vulnerable children in this elementary school to improve their emotional management ability.The service effect of this study was evaluated by measuring the improvement of the emotional management ability of the service object before and after the group activity,the activity participation and satisfaction.Finally,the limitations and sustainability of this research are summarized and reflected.In this study,it is believed that the group work method under the guidance of ABC theory can change the irrational belief of vulnerable children from the cognitive level,and can help vulnerable children improve their emotional management abilities such as emotion recognition,emotion understanding and emotion regulation.
