Research In The Teaching Of Fisherman Paintings For Primary Arts Classes In Zhoushan City

As an local arts resource in Zhoushan city,Zhejiang Province,the Fisherman Paintings are adopted by local primary schools into their school-based arts curriculum to improve the comprehensive quality of local primary students.At present,the related teaching activities have been conducted by many local primary schools.But according to my field investigation and analysis,I found that the art classes given by different local primary schools vary in teaching effect,due to the restriction of some factors,with some primary art teachers even short of clear understanding to Zhoushan Fisherman Paintings.From my perspective,this predicament to the teaching of the Fisherman Paintings results from three major aspects in the local primary art classes:deficient understanding of Zhoushan Fisherman Painting from students,large homework pressure on students,and insufficient knowledge about Zhoushan Fisherman Paintings from art teachers.Based on this discovery,I have collected and arranged plenty of Zhoushan Fisherman Paintings.An in-dept analysis has been exercised on the features and contents of the Fisherman Paintings by the methods of iconology and comparative analysis to further explore their history and make comparison with other modern folk arts in China.The perception has been gained that Zhoushan Fisherman Paintings are a sort of innovative folk paintings combing the concept of modern western paintings and Zhoushan culture.Through the exploration to the implicit and unique culture,aesthetics and creation value in the Paintings,I have screened out the types of fisherman paintings to fit in the learning progress of primary students.Besides,with questionnaires and other methods I have surveyed the current situation and existing problems for the teaching of the Fisherman Paintings in local primary art lessons and comp up with an solution to further develop school-based arts curriculum in Zhoushan,i.e.to tap Zhoushan Fisherman Paintings into the arts education and teaching for primary grades as well as well into the design and teaching scheme of the school-based arts curriculum.
