Study On University Technology Transfer And Its Efficiency

As the economic development and technology updating accelerate,the contribution of technology transfer in universities becomes unprecedented.Equipped with large amounts of technology-related staff,government funding and research outcomes,the efficiency of university technology transfer has always received attention.This article focuses on the efficiency of technology transfer in Chinese universities and,in turn,investigates on the specific determinations of this efficiency.Our result shows that there exist non-efficiency situations in the Chinese universities' technology transfer activities.The positive indicators of efficiency include regional economic development and top scholar numbers,whereas the ordinary academic research scale and quality doesn't seem to matter.The negative indicators include technology-related staff size and reputation,indicating the lack of industrial influence and concentration of industrial research.Finally,based on previous empirical results,this paper makes recommendations on the future of university technology transfer in terms of technology transfer institution construction,incentive system,legal environment,financing environment,and related supporting industries.
