Illustration of the first semester Chinese textbook compiled by the Ministry of Education is trying to innovate under the current educational and cultural concepts.Not only are the external appearance and internal elements of the illustration more contemporary,but the meaning of the illustration is closer to the meaning of the article.In Chinese learning,it affects the development of students 'learning ability and the formation of students' values.This article summarizes the characteristics of the illustrations of the first semester Chinese textbook compiled by the Ministry of Education,fully explore the teaching value of textbook illustrations from three aspects: language learning,thinking training,and cultural influence.And summarize the ways to realize the teaching value of textbook illustrations from the survey results and excellent cases.The text discusses from four aspects.The first part of the article,analyzes the features of the Chinese textbook illustrations from the aspects of external performance and content.The research concludes that the illustrations are coordinated in color,arranged in various forms,and rich in expression techniques;in the content,vivid animals and plants are common,mind maps are increasing,and Chinese elements are very distinctive.The second part of the article,analyzes the teaching value of Chinese textbook illustrations based on the language learning requirements for students and the characteristics of textbook illustrations.It is concluded that: in language learning,illustrations have the value of assisting Chinese characters recognition,assisting text understanding,and promoting expression and communication;in thinking training,illustrations can develop students' attention and observation ability,strengthen students' processing and memory information ability,stimulate students' imagination and association ability;in terms of cultural influence,illustrations can help create a traditional cultural atmosphere,cultivate a sense of national identity,and show the national spirit.The third part of the article,summarizes the data obtained by investigating some primary schools in Huangzhou District,Huanggang City,and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of teachers and students' recognition and use of illustration teaching value.The fourth part of the article,based on the teaching value of the second part and the current situation investigation of the third part,analyzes the excellent teaching cases and summarizes the methods for effectively using the teaching value of teaching materials illustrations.It is found that: teachers use illustrations to guide students' language learning,they need according to the characteristics of language learning content;to use illustrations to train students' thinking,they must fully consider the thinking characteristics and thinking development needs of students in the first semester;with illustrations to strengthen students' cultural feelings,avoid teaching pictures directly.
