The meaning of reading teaching should be to cultivate students' interest in reading and promote the development of students' thinking.Modern and contemporary prose,as a part of the teaching of reading,is a large proportion of the textbook.The level of teachers' teaching determines the quality of students' learning and reading teaching to a certain extent.In the face of the problems existing in the teaching of modern and contemporary prose reading,this article explores the academic community's support for modern prose reading teaching research,and proposes optimization strategies,hoping to provide a reference for the majority of frontline teachers.Using literature study,questionnaire,interview method,statistical analysis method,classroom observation and other research methods,in modern and contemporary prose reading teaching as the research object,analyses the junior middle school stage of modem and contemporary prose reading teaching situation,found that some of the common problems and humanistic theme and main language the harmony relationship,not enough attention and contemporary prose reading method,lack in the cultivation of reading ability,etc.In view of the problems existing in the teaching of modern and contemporary prose reading,this paper summarizes the causes,which are mainly due to the teachers' insufficient understanding of the relationship between humanistic themes and Chinese elements,their unclear understanding of the concept of reading methods,and the limitation of reading strategies to one style.Human relations insufficient understanding of the theme and the language elements makes teachers can't display "cultural theme" and "Chinese elements" maximum value of the two,reading method makes it hard for the teacher understanding unclear concepts play a modem and contemporary prose reading lasting appeal and aesthetic experience,will be limited to a style reading strategies are unfavorable to the cultivation of modem and contemporary prose general reading ability.Therefore,the following Suggestions are put forward: using rhetorical devices,intensive reading and silent reading to understand the humanistic theme;Key sentences and major events are used to implement the unit's humanistic theme.Repeatedly explain the key and difficult points of the article,to achieve "carefully choose words";To promote "skimming" by "intensive reading",reasonable design of teaching.To promote the effective coordination of all elements of general reading ability.In order to improve the present situation of modern and contemporary prose reading teaching.This article puts forward some suggestions on how to optimize the teaching of modern prose reading.
