Classroom assessment is closely related to school teaching and students' learning, especially immediate classroom assessment, which plays an important role in teaching practice. However,it has not received much attention in educational research or teachers' teaching practice.Students' interest in learning is considered one major factor that affects their academic achievements. And the new curriculum reform suggests that process evaluation,in which students' classroom performance is the main reference, should be reinforced. Therefore, this research, which is based on the topic of immediate classroom evaluation,is theoretically and practically significant.Classroom immediate evaluation refers to teachers' timely evaluation and feedback on learners' progress, behavior, attitudes, personalities and other aspects during their interaction with the students. As an important part of classroom teaching evaluation,What it emphasizes is the evaluation of students' actual classroom performance in specific teaching situations. So,how is immediate classroom evaluation applied in physical education class in high schools ? Does it affect students' interest in physical education? These are the focus of this paper.Researches based on pedagogy, psychology and educational sociology indicates that teachers' teaching behavior is one of the important factors affect students' interest of learning.Taking high school PE teachers' teaching behavior as the starting point, this study discusses the relationship between immediate classroom evaluation in PE class and students' interest towards sports through questionnaire surveys, interviews and some other research methods. This research is going to answer the following questions: How is immediate classroom evaluation applied in PE class? Is there a correlation between teachers' immediate classroom evaluation and students' interest towards PE? What kind of effects does PE teachers' immediate classroom evaluation have on students of different grades or different genders ?Questionnaire surveys of451 students in Zhangjiagang,Jiangsu province and interviews 6 PE teachers and 4students reveal that high school PE teachers' immediate classroom evaluation still needs to be improved. The research results indicate that Firstly,in the current situation, the overall assessment level is not high, especially in subjects and modes, which needs further strengthening and implementing.Secondly, the subjects are relatively single such as the absence of the self-assessment and peer-assessment and the lack of comprehensiveness and pertinence and the shortage of proper guidance, which leads to the low evaluation satisfaction rate from students.Thirdly, the real-time evaluation is significantly connected with students ' interests.Based on the significant connection and mutual promotion between the real-time evaluation and interests,it is strongly advisable that the real-time evaluation should be revised to develop students' interests.Fourthly,in terms of grades and genders, the real-time evaluation has different effects on the development of students ' interest in physical education learning. The findings show that the interest is decreasing as the grade increases and the real-time evaluation affects boys' interest in PE learning than girls'.
