Research On The Constitution And Application Of Competency Model Of BW College Counselor In Guilin

As a core part of college teachers,the college counselor is the backbone force of carrying out college students' ideological and political education,also the organizer,the practitioner and the mentor for managing college students.The Counselor's job performance depends on their competency level,which also affects the quality of personnel training in colleges and universitiesThis paper takes BW College counselors in Guilin as the research object,analyzes the current situation of counselors.By analyzing the relevant research results of college counselors' competency in recent ten years,54 factors about counselors' competency have been gained after screening and sorting.The writer investigates the importance of competency factors of BW College counselors and concludes that BW College counselors should possess 36 factors of counselors' competency.The writer invited ten BW College experts who use the Delphi method to adjust and amend the competency elements,then using the analytic hierarchy method,the writer calculates each index weight and the overall goal of the group weights to build a BW College counselor competency model.The model consists of four dimensions and 25 items of competency,which are the dimensions of knowledge and skills in the ideological and political education and psychological counseling group knowledge,employment knowledge,comprehensive knowledge,observation ability,executive ability,strain capacity,organization and coordination ability,personal characteristics,such as initiative,responsibility,fairness,dedication,innovation consciousness,being careful,extensive interest,self-regulation,role models,communication ability,understanding and respecting the students,caring for students and affinity under the interpersonal dimension,firm belief in Marx,devotion to education,occupation identity under the value dimension.After building the counselor competency model,the writer conducts a survey of counselors' competency situation in allusion to students and counselors in BW College to find out the similarities and differences of competency assessment.Taking BW College as a case,more countermeasures will be applied to select college counselors,to carry out training and assessment work for independent college.The paper will present a way to solve the problems of the current independent college counselor team construction,so as to improve the comprehensive quality of independent college counselor.
