Study On The Competency Model Of Students' Counselor And Its Application In BJFU

Since 1949, college-counselors who are day and night along with college students have made great contributions to the development of university and the growth of college students. In this popular higher Education period,college student work is facing an unprecedented new situation, new challenges and new problems,and college-counselors assume the historical responsibility for the moral education of students and training the qualified and reliable builders and successors of the Socialism. Student counselors will become more prominent position in the work of ideological and political education.To strengthen the building of counselors and enhance the level of counselors work, the most fundamental and the most effective way is to establish human resources management system based on the competency model.In order to build this human resources management system, the first thing is to establish and improve the competency model of college-counselors.In this study, we take the college-counselors in BJFU for study objects. We summarize the elements of student-counselors competency model through document analysis, expert interviews, SOW analysis, work observation, open-ended interview questionnaires and structured questionnaires.And we build the competency model of college-counselors suitable for BJFU through components analysis.Besides, taking the present human resources situation into account, we preliminarily discussed counselors human resources management system based on the competency model, and bring forward recommendations and countermeasures for the improvement of the college-counselor recruitment, selection, training, motivation and assessment work in BJFU.
