In order to meet the needs of Chinese language learning,Confucius Institute Headquarters(Hanban)and South Korean National Institute for International Education signed an agreement to select volunteer Chinese teachers to go to South Korea for Chinese teaching.The Chinese classes in South Korean high school mainly adopt a cooperative mode,that is,two Chinese teachers,who are each Chinese individual and South Korean individual,teach in cooperation.In this paper,the advantages and disadvantages of this model are summarized from these aspects:volunteer Chinese teachers,South Korean Chinese teachers and South Korean students.The advantages of the two teachers are that they can make full use of their own advantages to maximize the use of resources.Volunteer Chinese teachers can accumulate teaching experience,and South Korean Chinese teachers can reduce teaching pressure.However,the application of this model in the field of TCSL is not mature enough.There are still some problems to be solved.Firstly,students feel stressed out and are not close to Chinese teachers.Secondly,Chinese teachers lack self-identity and sense of belonging in their teaching.Then,South Koreanteachers have heavy workload.Finally,as far as co-teaching is concerned,the time of preparing lessons together is not so enough,the conflict of teaching ideas and the unreasonable assignment of tasks are all the problems that need to be concerned.Therefore,it is necessary to put forward feasible suggestions for these three groups as well as cooperative teaching according to the existing shortcomings:students should attach importance to Chinese learning,grasp opportunities and change attitudes.Chinese teachers should be strict with themselves,South Korean teachers should make clear of their important duties and play a good role as a bond to enable South Korean students and Chinese teachers to have friendly exchanges.Finally,it needs the joint efforts of two teachers,from the teaching link,the teaching method,the teaching object and the suitable cooperation pattern in order to promote the cooperation teaching's validity.In conclusion,based on the teaching practice,this paper tries to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the cooperative model from the aspects of the implementer,the two Chinese teachers,and the recipient of the model,the South Korean students.It is hoped that it can provide useful references for Chinese classes under the cooperative teaching mode.
