In recent years,it is becoming more popular for academic stream master students to participate in internships not arranged for academic training.Such a phenomenon is affected or even caused by multiple policy actors, and it reveals the conflicts between participating in non-academic internship and academic training, academic stream graduate student education and their employment prospects,as well as the conflicts within the supervisor-student relation. The contradictions reflect the mismatch between the training objectives and training specifications of academic stream master students and the needs of the job market, training system and self-development needs of academic stream master students.Through semi-structured in-depth interviews,we explore the influencing factors of autonomous internship behavior of academic graduate students, and finally form a theoretical analysis framework to explain the independent internship behavior of academic graduate students. This research mainly adopts the qualitative method, and takes non-academic internships of academic-stream master students as the entry point.By collecting the research data through semi-structured in-depth interviews with supervisors and students, comprehensively applying the grounded theory as major analysis method. The subjective feelings, mentality change and behaviors of academic-stream master students in the selection, and process are outlined and deeply described. The contradictions in the non-academic internships are mainly reflected in the differences of cognition and attitude between students and supervisors,as well as the conflicts in time and task between school learning activities and internship work activities. The structural imbalance between the supply and demand of talents between graduate training policies and the job market indirectly affects the choice of non-academic internships;University and internship units have a driving or resisting effect on academic-stream master students' participation. All in all, different stakeholders may exert positive or negative, strong or weak, direct or indirect influence on academic-stream master students' participation in non-academic internships based on their own positions. In order to meet the needs of the comprehensive development of academic-stream master, and to improve the quality of education of academic-stream master,we should actively promote the reform of the training system, and increase the recognition of academic-stream master students' participation in non-academic internships.
