Following the trend of the time for curriculum reform of elementary education,China has put forward the concept of “Chinese quality”.Chinese textbook is the important carrier to comprehensively enhance the Chinese quality of students,the link between the teaching by teachers and learning by students,and the basis for teacher-student interaction and dialogue.Classical Chinese is China's traditional and unique literary style and the beautiful essays recorded with written classical Chinese.The selection and compilation of classical Chinese texts in Chinese textbooks for junior middle school are closely linked to the good inheritance of excellent ancient Chinese culture and the effective improvement of students' humanistic quality.In autumn 2016,the newly revised MOE-compiled middle school Chinese textbooks started to be adopted across China.In such a new era,to further improve the compilation of Chinese textbooks in China,a systematic study of MOE-compiled Chinese textbooks for junior middle school is indispensable.To help teachers and students gain a relatively complete understanding of MOE-compiled Chinese textbooks for junior middle school and verify the implementation of course standard requirements in Chinese textbooks for junior middle school,an in-depth study of ancient Chinese text selection system and compilation styles have become a research project of urgent and practical significance.This thesis compares MOE-compiled Chinese textbooks with PEP-edition and Han Lin-edition Chinese textbooks for junior middle school.Firstly,the thesis explores the theoretical basis for the compilation of ancient Chinese texts in Chinese textbooks,comprehensively and systematically studies the text selection system,reading assistance system,and practice system of Chinese textbooks,and analyzes the characteristics for the selection and compilation of ancient Chinese texts in MOE-compiled Chinese textbooks.The thesis falls into four parts.Part One analyzes the theoretical basis for the compilation of ancient Chinese texts in MOE-compiled and PEP-edition Chinese textbooks for junior middle school and summarizes the features in the compilation concepts of MOE-compiled Chinese textbooks for junior middle school: stress the improvement of students' Chinesecore competencies,comprehensively consider the cognition level and acceptance capacity of students,and determine concrete reading methods and strategies;Part Two analyzes the ancient Chinese works in MOE-compiled and PEP-edition Chinese textbooks for junior middle school.It is found that different selected texts between the two editions have their own features in chapters,number and content while common selected texts are slightly different in selection of words and phrases,content addition and deletion,and punctuations and paragraphs.Part Three analyzes the theoretical basis for the compilation of ancient Chinese texts in MOE-compiled Chinese and Han Lin-edition Chinese textbooks for junior middle school,and concludes that differences exist in the same programmatic documents between mainland China and Taiwan;Part Four analyzes the ancient Chinese works in MOE-compiled and Han Lin-edition Chinese textbooks for junior middle school and offers a comparative analysis in text selection system,reading assistance system and practice system.Based on the research on the selection and compilation of many middle school Chinese textbooks,the thesis presses ahead innovatively and contributes to the development in the selection and compilation of Chinese textbooks.
