The new curriculum standard of geography in senior high school has put forward higher requirements on geography teaching mode,but there is still a certain gap between the current geography teaching system and the new curriculum standard,the thesis applies literature research methods,questionnaire investigation,observation and cases analysis.What's more,under the guidance of constructivism theory,teaching form stage theory,concept assimilation theory and concept transformation theory,this paper studies the practice of "5E" teaching mode in the teaching of geography concept in senior high school,in order to help students learn the concept of geography better."5E" includes engage,explain,elaborate,evaluate,because the English letters of the five links are "E",so it is called "5E" teaching model.This research starts with the teaching mode of "5E" and the present situation of geography concept teaching at home and abroad,and through questionnaire investigation and classroom observation to students of Tianshui No.1 Middle School and teachers in many provinces,we can understand the present situation teaching and learning of geography concept.the "5E" teaching mode should follow the principles of science,subjectivity,practicality,question and literacy.On the basis of these principles,the concept introduction strategy,the concept inquiry strategy,the concept explanation strategy,the concept transfer strategy and the concept evaluation are put forward.After the case practice,the author evaluates the practical effect of the students in the educational practice classes,and draws the conclusion that the "5E" teaching mode can help the teachers to carry on the geography concept teaching better.Students can also acquire more comprehensive geographic knowledge,develop the ability of cooperation and communication,explore ability and practice ability,.And then better improve the students' geographical core literacy.Finally,the innovation of this paper is to apply the "5E" teaching mode to the teaching of geography concept in senior high school.
