Research On Chinese Culture Teaching To The Primary Schools Of Victoria,Australia

In the 1970 s,when the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language was initiated in China,Chinese teaching in Australia also started.In recent years,bilateral economy and trade between China and Australia has grown significantly,which has promoted the development of Chinese teaching in Australia.Victoria has a highly developed economy with broad multi-cultural interest and this has led to the Chinese language teaching to expand rapidly in the Victoria.When I worked at the Bacchus Marsh Primary School as a volunteer Chinese teacher,I was mainly responsible for the Chinese culture teaching.The following are some thinking about the Chinese culture teaching at the elementary level in Victoria:(1)How to understand the relationship between language teaching and cultural teaching(2)What is the current situation of Chinese culture teaching in Victoria Primary Schools;(3)How to design a Chinese culture lesson that is suitable for primary school learners in Victoria.Firstly,I clarify that there is a relationship of mutual inclusion and promotion between language teaching and cultural teaching by collecting and reading of literature.In addition,using the elements of teaching design as the scope of the survey,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the situation of Chinese culture teaching in Victoria Primary School.Through the investigation of schools,teachers and students,I summarize the issues of Chinese culture teaching in Victoria primary schools into three aspects: curriculum,classroom teaching,and teaching resources.By sorting out the cultural teaching cases in Bacchus Marsh Primary School and dividing language lessons and cultural lessons as the basis,I analyze two typical cultural teaching cases to provide teaching references and suggestions for Chinese teachers in Victoria Primary Schools.
