Since the first Confucius Institute in the world was established in South Korea in2004,the popularity of Chinese learning in Korea has been heating up.At present,Chinese teaching in South Korea is developing towards a younger-age.It should be noted that elementary school students have special characteristics when learning a second language.This is mainly because that elementary school students are in the golden age of language ability development and their own characteristics of psychological development,such as strong acceptance,strong curiosity,etc.Chinese teaching is also peculiar in Korean elementary school classrooms.So far,Chinese language teaching has not fully entered elementary school classrooms in all districts.In elementary schools,Chinese lessons have been arranged mainly for students interest.Therefore,in the process of Chinese teaching entering Korean elementary school classrooms,we need to pay more attention to study students' Chinese learning motivation.In addition,there are very few literatures on the motivation of Chinese learning for foreign elementary school students.Currently,there are only two master's theses retrieved through China National Knowledge Infrastructure.Therefore,there are still gaps in the field of foreign elementary school students' Chinese learning motivation.This thesis is based on D?rnyei's learning motivation three-level model as well as Gardner and Lambert's learning motivation theory,combined with teaching practice in Daebul Elementary School Mokpo,Jeollanam-do,South Korea.This thesis mainly investigates the factors affecting the motivation of Chinese learning in South Korea Daebul Elementary School students in grade three to six through questionnaire survey.And this thesis analyses whether gender,grade,personality,learning time,whether Chinese or not and personality affect the motivation of students in Daebul Elementary School.In addition,this thesis investigates and analyzes the factors affecting the motivation of Chinese learning in Daebul Elementary School students from four aspects: family environment factors,school factors,personal factors and teacher factors.On this basis,the author tries to put forward some specific teachingsuggestions to stimulate the motivation of Korean elementary students in Chinese learning.
