Geography,including both nature and humanity,is a complex subject that has strong comprehensiveness and abstraction.During geography learning,if students want to improve the study efficiency,they must have strong enthusiasm and initiative.Appropriate motivation of geography learning can stimulate students' desire to learn geography and improve their learning initiative.High school stage plays an important role in developing students' geographical thinking and ability,but under the influence of social,school,family and students themselves,the current students' motivation of geographical learning is generally not high.Especially in the backward and remote areas,the interest and passion of geographical learning is much lower.So how to stimulate students' motivation and make them interested in learning geography is still a problem worthy of discussion.Since the main body of teaching activities is students.With its high participation and intuition,geography experiment teaching can highlight the main position of students,and it is of great significance to cultivate students' core quality of geography.Then,can geography experiment teaching stimulate students' learning motivation? Can we make students better achieve their learning objectives in geography practice and gradually cultivate their interest in learning geography? This study takes Y Middle School of Zhouqu County as an example to carry out the research about the influence of geography experiment teaching on the high school students' geography learning motivation,aiming to understand the current situation and overall characteristics of the students' geography learning motivation,and to verify whether the geography experiment teaching can help to improve the general high school students' geography learning motivation,and whether it can stimulate the students' internal learning motivation,so as to explore how to stimulate the students' learning motivation in the high school geography teaching.In this paper,the quasi experimental research method is used,the students from two parallel classes in the first grade of Zhouqu County Y Middle School are taken as the research object,which are divided into the experimental group and the control group.These two groups of students are taught by geography experiment method and traditional teaching method respectively.Adopting the MSLQ-CV2 geography learning motivation scale as the research tool,this paper makes pretest and posttest on the students' geography learning motivation,and uses the relevant statistical software to compare and analyze the changes of the pretest and posttest results and the differences between the two groups of students' geography learning motivation.The results show that:(1)the overall level of senior one grade students' geography learning motivation of is low.It is dominated by external learning motivation and has low internal learning motivation;(2)the school has not carried out geography experiment teaching before,and students are interested in that during our research teaching,with high participation and enthusiasm;(3)the students who participate in geography experiment teaching have higher learning motivation than those who taught by traditional teaching method,that is to say,geography experiment teaching is helpful to improve students' geography learning motivation;(4)geography experiment teaching is significant to the cultivation of students' self-efficacy and intrinsic value,it can effectively improve students' internal learning motivation.In view of the above conclusion,there are the following reasons found through the communication between the author and the students: the traditional teaching method is simplified,which cannot effectively stimulate the initiative of students to learn geography,students' geography learning is mainly constrained by the achievements and needs to meet the expectations of teachers and parents,so it is mainly dominated by external learning motivation,while internal learning motivation is low.The geography experiment teaching can not only transform abstract into intuitive,show some abstract geographical phenomena and principles to students in simulation or concrete form,but also let students operate and observe by themselves with high participation and openness,which can arouse their enthusiasm,stimulate their interest in exploring knowledge and improve their internal learning motivation.Finally,the following thoughts and suggestions on how to stimulate students' learning motivation in geography experiment teaching are made:(1)reasonably choose the content of geography experiment and highlight its value;(2)make scientific experiment teaching plan to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching;(3)strengthen the conclusion of experiment,pay attention to the transformation of knowledge;(4)encourage students to participate in the experiment without erasing the students' enthusiasm;(5)improve the teaching conditions and the facilities of geography experiment.In view of the perspective of high school students' geographical learning motivation,this study takes geographical experimental teaching as an approach to verify its impact on high school students' geographical learning motivation,explore the reasons why it can stimulate students' geographical learning motivation,and finally put forward feasible suggestions for that.So as to provide a certain theoretical reference for the future geography teaching.At the same time,carrying out the geography experiment teaching is also an attempt of the author in the teaching reform.
