Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,the principal contradiction facing Chinese society has evolved,the proposition of the people's growing "need for a better life" is highlighted.However,the cognition and practice of "need for a better life" has differences among different classes,different groups and even different individuals,and is related to people's environment and spiritual character.Contemporary college students are builders and successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics,and they are also active groups pursuing the satisfaction of "need for a better life".This article starts from the cognitive status of college students' "need for a better life",and then analyzes the reasons and proposes corresponding countermeasures,that is,following the logic of the question of "what,why,and what to do",with a view to guiding college students' correct cognition and practical pursuit of "need for a better life".In terms of specific content,through questionnaire research,we conducted a questionnaire on the cognitive status of college students' "need for a better life" in the new era,it is found that college students have cognitive errors or even misunderstandings in the aspects of "material and spiritual needs","fixation and development of needs","individual good life and collective good life","the concept and practice of good life".Analysis of the reasons for these cognitive deviations and even misunderstandings are multiple,including the impact of multicultural values,the life world of college students is obscured by various factors,and the lack of practical exercise for a better life.Therefore,according to the principle that people's correct cognition comes from their life practice,this article broadly explores the main path of college students' cognition and practice of "need for a better life" with different levels and environments composed of schools,families and society,for individual college students,they strengthen their training from multiple dimensions of knowledge,affection,and behavior.In other words,form the correct concept of college students' "need for a better life" in the course study,cultivate the emotion of college students' "need for a better life" in the context of life,and practice the college students' "needfor a better life" in a broad society,through the above-mentioned various methods,college students are encouraged to recognize the "need for a better life"from conception to emotional recognition,and then return to practice to work hard to truly meet the pursuit of "need for a better life".
