The Effect Of Manufacturing Agglomeration On Population Urbanization Under Different Industrial Structure

The development of industrialization and urbanization has made our country economy rapidly developed since China began to reform and open up.Today,our country is currently in an important period of transformation and upgrading of economic and accelerating the construction of socialist modernization.We should give consideration to both the development of industrialization and the development of urbanization.As “the country new urbanization planning(2014-2020)”and “the made in China 2025” successively promulgated,we can see that the development of manufacturing industry is in a key period,and in-depth development of manufacturing industry should also be clear its effect on the development of urbanization.Based on the current development stage of China,it is necessary to explore the effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization.Whether it is discussed in general sense by combining with the related theory of industrial agglomeration and urbanization or existing empirical research,we can conclude that manufacturing agglomeration can promote the population urbanization.However,whether the degree to which manufacturing agglomeration promotes population urbanization varies from city to city will affect whether cities can achieve smart development according to local conditions.Based on the perspective of industrial structure,this paper explore the non-linear effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization in a special sense by selectingdata from 150 cities at the prefectural level and above in some provinces of the eastern,central and western regions and combining the theoretical analysis of industrial correlation and empirical study of building threshold regression model.Study found that: first,the non-linear effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization plays a significant role.Urban industrial structure of threshold variate exists the double threshold effect.The selected cities on the basis of the industrial structure can be divided into three different sections to analysis the effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization.Second,the effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization is the marginal minus effect,but manufacturing agglomeration can promote the population urbanization through the analysis.Third,the effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization under different industrial structure exists different marginal effect,the marginal effect of manufacturing agglomeration on population urbanization will decline when the economic development of the tertiary industry output relatived to the second industry output rises.Based on empirical study conclusion,this paper puts forward the corresponding suggestions,we should insist on the dominant status of the development of manufacturing and adjust measures to local conditions to plan industry development to promote the urbanization by thinking of the industrial structure.In addition,we also should create a good environment for the industry development and better take adventage of the government.
