The Study On Comprehensive Function Of National Defense Education In Colleges And Universities In The New Era

Xi Jinping,general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,pointed out in the report of the 19 th National Congress: " Our national defense is the responsibility of every one of us.We must raise public awareness about the importance of national defense and strengthen unity between the government and the military and between the people and the military.Let us work together to create a mighty force for realizing the Chinese Dream and the dream of building a powerful military." College students are not only the builders and successors of the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics,but also the main force in the modernization of national defense and the information construction of military.Therefore,national defense education in colleges and universities is an important foundation for nationwide national defense education.Focusing on the new mission and new requirements of the new era,and taking Xi Jinping's important exposition of national defense education as a guide,strengthening national defense education in colleges and universities in the new era is an objective requirement for cultivating the socialist builders and successors featuring an all-round development in morality,intelligence and beauty.The main body of the thesis consists of three parts,the contents of each part are as follows:The first part explores the meaning of national defense education in colleges and universities through literature research and systematic analysis.In the new era,national defense education in colleges and universities is conducive to enhancing students' awareness of potential danger and mission,and to reserve excellent talents for "Chinese dream" and " Strong Army Dream";it is conducive to improving the overall quality of college students,laying the ideological foundation for the realization of the fundamental goal of cultivating talents;it is conducive to boosting the reform and innovation of national defense education in colleges and universities and further promoting the development of its comprehensive educational function.The second part analyzes the basic situation of national defense education in colleges and universities through questionnaires and interviews.Colleges and universities in Nanjing has made some achievements in carrying out national defense education,but at the same time,there are still some problems need to be improved----in terms of leaders' less attention,college students' less attention to national defense,college students' weak recognition for military skills training subject,dissatisfaction of military theory course and so on.The third part is aimed at the problems existing in the national defense education of colleges and universities,exploring the countermeasures for the comprehensive function of national defense education according to the characteristics and requirements of the new era: firstly,focus on the strategy considerations of national defense education,to strengthen toplevel design;secondly,focus on the ideological leadership of national defense education,to create a comprehensive education atmosphere;thirdly,focus on the main position of national defense education,comprehensively promote curriculum construction;fourthly,focus on the sustainable development of national defense education,to innovate the form of training reserve force of national defense.Through the above four aspects,we will strive to carry out the national defense education in colleges and universities in the new era.
