According to the tendency of international geography education,in order to accomplish the task of fostering virtue of people by education,in January,2018,the Ministry of Education released the geographic curriculum standards for senior high schools(2017 edition),which proposed geographic core literacy,Geography practical literacy is one of the important parts.To foster it for the students,the geography teaching in geographic practice activities of inspection,investigation and simulated experiment and so on have been received unprecedented attention.The literacy in geographic teaching of practical activities is referred to the cultivation of geography practical literacy,which will concern the achievement of fostering virtue of people by education.So it is essential to learn about the current situation of geographic teaching literacy in practical activities of in-service teachers,which will promote the professionalization of geography teachers.After combing the scientific literature,Geography practical teaching literacy is defined by the connotation of geography practical literacy.In this study,the quantitative and qualitative research methods are mixed to study the above problems.In the process of investigation,the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey,empirical analysis and interview were adopted.This research mainly has the following several parts:The first part: Introducing the research background,clarifying the meaning of the research and summarizing the domestic and foreign present situation,the content confirmed,formulating the research ideas and route.The second part: Discussing the connotative definition of geography practical literacy,then defining the concepts of geography practical teaching and geography practical teaching literacy.The third part: Conducting the investigation on the current situation and characteristics of geography practical teaching literacy of geography teachers in high school by quantitative research method which consisted of questionnaire and occasional interviews.The design and process of the questionnaire has been explained,and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire and the results of the survey has been analyzed.The analysis of the results of the survey is divided into two aspects: On the one hand,givingthe general descriptive statistical analysis: Statistical analysis has been used for the basic information and the data of the self-rating scale,which includes the overall situation of geography practical teaching literacy and the six dimensions of level score and score distribution.On the other hand,the analysis of the differences of geography practical teaching literacy in demographic background has been given.Moreover,we also analyzed the problems and reasons of geography practical teaching literacy.According to the general descriptive statistical analysis:it was found that the current situation of geography practical teaching literacy is unsatisfactory,for the reason that the number of actual operation is small and most of teachers with the deficiency of skills and capabilities had been short of specialized knowledge.Meanwhile,there are some differences between male and female,urban and rural areas,which also exist in various professional qualifications and regions.The fourth part: Making the qualitative analysis of teaching process and geography practical types of teachers of different professional qualification,of school age,district and so on by comparative observation and interviewing method.Exploring the difference of geography teachers under different demographic background to verify and replenish the problem and analysis.The fifth part: To put forward countermeasures in the face of the existing problems,there are several measures are as follows:(1)Establish the scientific and reasonable evaluation system of geography practical literacy;(2)Carry out the training combined observation training with participatory training;(3)Organize a regional academic team and compile the library of geography practical case study;(4)Carry out the educational assistance and financial aid to optimize the allocation of educational resources;(5)Strengthen the training of normal university and the diversification of geography teachers;(6)Enhance self-development consciousness of teachers for themselves.There are still some deficiencies in this study because of limited time and ability.Therefore,the author hopes that the conclusions and countermeasures can promote the cultivation of geography practical literacy and other geography core literacy and the development of the geography teachers in Guangdong.
