Since the 42 years of reform and opening up,China's economy has continued to develop rapidly and is the world's most dynamic and fastest-growing economy.In order to adapt to it,new demands and expectations have been put forward for the development of higher education in China.“Building a world-class university based on subjects and building first-class undergraduate education based on specialty” is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee to meet the needs of China's economic and social development.With the advancement of the “Double First-class”strategy,higher education has gradually shifted to intensive development with perfect structure,enriched content,and enhanced quality as its core.This is a golden stage in the development of higher education in China.As an important part of higher education,private higher education has also ushered in an excellent development opportunity.At present,private undergraduate colleges and universities in China are all application-oriented colleges,and most of them do not have graduate education.Professional construction is the core of school development and plays a vital role in the development of private colleges,therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the professional construction of private undergraduate colleges under the background of the “Double First-class” strategy.Based on the author's NCLG College as a case study,this research used literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview method,SWOT analysis method to analyze this thesis.Based on theories such as “The Theory of Coordinated Development of Higher Education and Economy”,“Theory of Comparative Advantage and Competitive Advantage”,and “Theory of Regional Higher Education Development”this thesis used the spirit of the Ministry of Education's recent document on professional development to carry out a comprehensive analysis and research on the practice of the school's professional construction,and put forward countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the core competitiveness of the school and promote the connotative development of the school's professional.The main contents of this study are as following:(1)The “Double First-class”strategy presents opportunities and challenges for the professional construction of private universities.This section discusses the concept of first-class undergraduate construction,which points out the direction for the professional construction of private colleges and universities.Talent competition has increased the difficulty of theconstruction of professional teachers in private colleges and universities,and subject competition has squeezed the resources for professional construction of private colleges.(2)Research on the practice of professional construction of NCLG college in Jiangxi private university.In this part,the author conducted field investigations,analyzed the status quo,achievements,and deficiencies of the school's professional construction.The author found that the school has obvious advantages,prominent contradictions,and great pressure by using SWOT analysis.(3)Countermeasures and suggestions for the professional construction and development of NCLG college under the “Double First-class” strategy.The following conclusions are obtained through research: Professional planning is valued but incomplete;Professional setting tends to be rational but not distinctive;Professional level has improved but is still low;Professional conditions have improved but are still rough.Based on the theory of professional construction and the requirements of the government,this thesis proposes the following countermeasures and suggestions for the practical problems in the professional construction of NCLG College:(1)Define the professional construction positioning of “local + industry + application”;(2)Establish a professional construction idea of “outstanding advantages,close to society,and emphasis on applications”;(3)Choose a professional construction strategy of“outstanding features,strengthening the foundation and building a brand”;(4)Improve the professional construction system of “leaders and commanders,professors and fund guarantees”;(5)Deepen the professional construction model of “industrial-education integration,school-enterprise cooperation,and meeting demand”.Although this thesis is aimed at the professional construction of the NCLG college,the countermeasures and suggestions are also aimed at the professional construction of the NCLG college,but it also has a strong reference value for the professional development of other private undergraduate colleges.
