As an important part of school sports,basketball has important value and significance to the cultivation of students' physical health and psychological quality.The public elective courses of basketball in colleges and universities provide college students with a platform to continue to learn the basic knowledge and skills of basketball.The learning and application of basketball public elective courses can enable more college students to actively and effectively participate in basketball,so as to further explore the value of basketball and lay a solid foundation for lifelong sports.Therefore,in order to study the motivation of college students to participate in the basketball public elective course,understand the needs and confusion of contemporary college students in the basketball public elective course,so as to better allow college students to participate in the basketball public elective course.This paper conducts an on-site questionnaire survey on the students of the basketball public elective courses in Jinan,and communicates and discusses the teachers of the basketball public elective courses through interviews to understand the purpose of college students participating in the basketball public elective courses.The hypothetical theory of the motivation of basketball public elective courses,through the search of various related literature,refer to the relevant basketball sports motivation scale and combine their own basketball experience,to compile the motivation scale for college students in Jinan to participate in the basketball public elective courses.The survey and analysis of the scale reveals that college students with different characteristics have different motivations for participating in basketball public elective courses,which will help colleges and universities to better understand the needs of students' learning,and carry out targeted basketball elective courses in the future.Has important practical significance.This article uses questionnaires,interviews,mathematical statistics and other methods to investigate and study the motivation of college students in Jinan to participate in the public elective courses of basketball,mainly for gender,age,basketball skill level,source of origin,basketball participation form,etc.The difference is analyzed systematically,and its motivation to participate in the public elective courses of basketball is analyzed.The research results are asfollows:1.From the perspective of different genders,the motivations of different genders to participate in the public elective courses of basketball are significantly different.The motivation of boys to participate in the public elective courses of basketball is stronger than that of girls.2.From different grades,there is no significant difference in the motivation to participate in the public elective courses of basketball.3.From the perspective of different student sources,the motivations of different student sources to participate in the basketball public elective course are significantly different.The motivation of students from urban student sources to participate in the basketball public elective course is stronger than that of rural students.4.From the perspective of different sports levels,there are significant differences in the motivation of participating in the basketball public elective courses at different sports levels.The high-level students have stronger motivation to participate in the basketball public elective courses than the low-level students.5.From the perspective of whether they are an only child,there is no significant difference in the motivation to participate in the public elective courses of basketball.
