The Research On Self-Control Problem In House Demolition And Resettlement

The problem of time preference and self-control is a topic that has gradually attracted attention in academic circles in recent years.After the discounted utility model has become the basic theoretical model in intertemporal selection,with the development of studies,people realize that some abnormal phenomena such as inconsistency in time preferences are not fully explained by the basic model,so more and more studies have begun to focus on time preference and self-control issues.Scholars tried to improve the discounted utility model and did some research on the discount function and the immediate utility function.This led to the development of new hyperbolic models and other improvements.People tried to better explain the real world via new models,and improve the welfare of the people and the efficiency of distribution.This article studies the problem of time preference and self-control in the context of house demolition.House demolition is a problem that cannot be ignored in the process of large-scale urbanization in China,the transitional period arrangements of the house demolished residents and the resettlement after demolition are the key factors to guarantee the smooth progress of house demolition and relocation.The existence of self-control problem will affect the living standards and well-being of the demolished villagers during the transition period.This article uses this as a starting point to study a smooth demolition and resettlement project and finds that even in a relatively smooth demolition process,the demolished villagers also have different choices before and after the house demolition.They did not follow the original plan during the transition period of demolition.Their expenditures reflect the problem of self-control of the demolished villagers.According to the behaviors of the demolished villagers,this article believes that they can partly realize their own problems of self-control,but they cannot accurately predict the degree of self-control problems and underestimate the changes of their own time preferences.Therefore,the government can provide some guidance and help to guide people to know more about their self-control problems,and adopt some commitment device in advance to prevent their inconsistencies in behavior before and after the demolition,and ensure the long-term interests of the villagers who are demolished.On this basis,combined with guarantees of reasonable resettlement and compensation levels and increase of the ways of people's choice of resettlement,the transitional period and subsequent living standards of the displaced residents will be ensured,so that the house demolition and resettlement will proceed smoothly and adverse phenomena such as violent demolition will be reduced.
