With the rapid development of China ' s infrastructure since the 21 st century, the infrastructure in rural areas has made a great change.Meanwhile, the progress of China's poverty alleviation has made great effort —— in 2015,the Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party(CPC)and the State Council has published the Decision on Winning the Tough Battle against Poverty, which commits lifting the entire impoverished population in rural areas out of poverty by 2020.It is marked as a crucial step in the final stage of fighting against poverty alleviation in China. This research aims to make future suggestions and countermeasures for infrastructure in China's rural impoverished regions,to faster achieve the target of poverty alleviation.Grounded in the provincial-level panel data from 2001 to 2015 of China's impoverished areas, the author adopts a method combining both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to study the performance of poverty alleviation work in China.Compared with the existing research literature,(1)the author focuses on the utilization of stock data on infrastructure as the proxy variable of different types of infrastructure.Additionally, this study highlights the efforts of the structural arrangement on poverty alleviation activities.(2)the author attempts to critically assess the mechanism of action of infrastructure on poverty reduction. The results of this investigation show that in the poverty-stricken rural areas, the infrastructure of transportation and education plays a more important role in the battle against poverty, followed by the medical and communication infrastructure. In view of different regions, except for China ' s western impoverished areas, the effort of transportation infrastructure construction has evaporated in most regions of China. In the short term, the impacts of road transportation infrastructure on poverty alleviation is more significant than the railway transportation infrastructure. For the long run, there is not any significant difference between the two types of transportation infrastructure. Finally, this paper puts forward some policy Suggestions for poverty reduction in rural areas.
