Chinese tourists now make up the biggest portion of inbound marketing in Bangkok. At the same time, tourist behaviour brings both remarkable benefits and negative impacts to residents' life of the destination.Apparently, resident perception is powerfully related to the future of tourism sustainability. Thus, given this situation,it is important to analyze resident perceptions of tourist behaviour in order to make tourism for a long-term sustainability. The aim of this research is to explore Bangkok residents' perception of the Chinese tourist behaviour, compare the views of different demographics, and contribute predictor of responsible tourism behaviour. This study addresses the problem by applying a responsible tourism framework within three aspects. In early 2017,questionnaires were submitted to Bangkok residents(N = 162)at three scenic spot destinations and well representing to the impacts of Chinese tourist.Data from these questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS statistics version 20.First,the overall perception suggested that residents view Chinese tourist behaviour as slightly negative, but a more nuanced analysis revealed that residents welcome economic gains from Chinese tourists despite perceived negative with respect to the socio-cultural and environmental dimensions.Second, findings indicate that the demographic variable did not make a difference in overall perception, but variable such as occupation, destination, and gender are significantly influenced to the perception of the economic dimension. The residential area factor did not yield a statistically significant result, and only the involvement of tourism employees had a statically significant impact on the perception of the economic and environmental dimensions.Third, with regard to factor analysis,13 items were taken into account and loaded into the three dimensions of responsible tourism. Then,a multiple linear regression was conducted, suggesting that resident views of both socio-cultural and environmental dimensions become significant predictors in predicting residents' overall perception while economic factor appear conspicuously non-significant.The implications of these result are:(1)the need to consider the management of carrying capacity to managing visitors number in tourist destination;(2)tourism authorities should push tourist to behave properly, especially for socially and environmentally responsibilities when travelling overseas;(3)Strengthening regional cooperation between two countries to solve cross-cultural communication problems.
