The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Rural Endowment In Tao Shan Town Of Ruian

The sixth census of China showed that the number of old people aged 60 and above in China is 178 million accounting for 13.32% of the total population.There are more old peoples living in rural areas than in urban areas.Up to 99.3 million of people live in the countryside accounting for 55.79%of the total aged people.It suggests that more than half of the elderly in our country is concentrated in rural areas,and makes rural old-age problem in our country become more increasingly prominent than ever.Some fundamental concepts and issues including aging population,aged tendency of population and their characteristics were presented.This paper reviewed the causes and characteristics of the rural population aging in our country,and the rural population aging effects on old-age security in China.This study investigated the status and characteristics of supporting old people in the rural region,and ways of old-age care desired by local old residents by using Tao Shan town Rui an city as an example.In combination with advanced experiences from alien and domestic developed areas,this research put forward some suggestions including establishment of multi-channel mode of caring for aged people suitable for rural areas,and renewing the concepts,and strengthening the consciousness of old-age security,and optimization of the source of rural endowment insurance,and improving classification of rural social endowment insurance mechanism,and developing local economy and improving the ability of rural old-age security,and establishing "stream" elderly apartment and boosting rural community endowment service platform.
