An Empirical Research On The Relationship Among Entrepreneur Prior Experience,Improvisational Behavior And International New Ventures Performance

With the increasing globalization of the economy expanding,academic research attach more and more attention on the international entrepreneurship,and have made a lot of useful research results in the past twenty years.In this period,the features of global economy embodied in the emerging economic liberalization and the gradual fusion of the world economy.Entrepreneurial activity has made a great contribution to create jobs and promote economic growth.In addition,The China's transformation environment is unpredictable and highly uncertain,and it also gives a challenges to the development of international new ventures(INVs).In the international market,how to response to fast-changing environment and improve enterprise's performance is a matter that entrepreneurs should be concerned.In this paper,we research the relationship among entrepreneur prior experience,improvisational behavior and international new ventures performance.Firstly,the paper conducted the literature review on International new venture performance,entrepreneur prior experience and improvisational behavior and came up with a rough theoretical framework.Secondly,by empirical research and hypothesis testing based on 176 international new venture samples,this is the research conclusions:first,entrepreneur prior experience has positive effect on improvisational behavior;second,entrepreneur improvisational behavior has positive effect on international new ventures performance;third,entrepreneur improvisational behavior plays a mediating effect between prior experience and International new venture performance;fourth,in high dynamic environments,the relationship between entrepreneur improvisational behavior and international new ventures performance will become more negative as entrepreneurial self-efficacy increases;In low dynamic environments,the relationship between entrepreneur improvisational behavior and international new ventures performance will become more positive as entrepreneurial self-efficacy increases.This paper made the following contributions:first,it have richened the research on the influencing mechanisms between entrepreneur prior experience and improvisational behavior;second,it innovatively divided entrepreneur improvisational behavior into three dimensions-creativity,real-time and persistance-and empirically tested the mediating effects of improvisational behavior on the relationship between entrepreneur prior experience and international new ventures performance;third,it joins environment dynamic and entrepreneurial self-efficacy as a moderator variable into the study,giving the lack of empirical research about international entrepreneurship in emerging economies.Practically,this paper brought international new ventures(INVs)the awareness of entrepreneur improvisational behavior,which provided basis for choosing the right way of international learning in the fierce international competition.
