Research On The Social Security Of The Land-lost Peasants In Qinhuangdao Economic And Technological Development Zone

China is a country with a large population.It is also a large agricultural country.Agriculture is fundamental to the survival of people.China is experiencing rapid development.Urbanization,featured by the constructions of parks,greeneries and other public facilities,has resulted in the expropriation of rural land.Consequently,a new identity,the land-lost peasants,has emerged.This group of people is between farmers and citizens.Although the social security system for this group is being improved,there are still some contradictions and conflicts.Therefore,the study of social security system for land-lost peasants needs urgent attention and should be put on the agenda.Qinhuangdao Economic and Technological Development Zone has made some achievements in this regard,but there are still some shortcomings.Based on questionnaire and in-depth interview in six villages,this paper investigates the current situation of the land-lost farmers in Qinhuangdao Economic and Technological Development Zone,such as the living standard of land-lost farmers,insurance and relief policies and so on.Then,the problems of social security system for land-lost farmers are analyzed.Finally,on the basis of summarizing the typical cases at home and abroad,this paper puts forward some feasible countermeasures and suggestions to improve the existing policies and strengthen the role of social security.it is hoped that this paper can provide some implications for the healthy development of social security of land-lost peasants in Qinhuangdao Economic and Technological Development Zone.
