Research On Shenyang City Image Based On The Perspective Of City Context

Urban context is the historical mark of a city from its origin to its development.It is the summation of urban form and people's life style.It has strong regionalism and is the root and soul of a city.The uniqueness of urban context is an important symbol to distinguish the spatial form between cities.City image is an important theory of Kevin Lynch's study of city form.As a representative symbol form of a city,good urban image has formed the motive of the development of urban characteristics.Shenyang is a famous historical and cultural city.Its historical context is profound,and its image characteristics are clear in the process of urban evolution.However,with the development of the times,the construction of city image is also urgent.Kevin Lynch's urban image theory,in this paper,considers that we should take into account the unique cultural form of the city,combined with the rich cultural context under different cultural context,in order to better understand the formation of urban image,explore the characteristics and construction strategies of urban image under the guidance of cultural context,and explore the urban design idea of continuing the historical context in the new era of the city.Based on the urban context,this paper divides Shenyang city into three contextual nodes:ManQing context,colonial context and industrial context,and then explores the urban image morphological characteristics under the context node.In the discussion of urban image,this paper mainly interprets urban image from the influence of cultural factors in context and the elements of urban image(i.e.roads,boundaries,regions,nodes and symbols),and explores the readability of urban image and public image recognition under different context nodes.Based on the context of the city,this paper discusses the image form of the city,and puts forward the idea and design method of the city image construction strategy,which can provide reference for future urban design.
