The Application Of Zero Translation Strategy In Interpretation Practice

In order to explore the application of zero translation strategy in interpretation,this thesis takes the 2018 Google I/O conference as a case to simulate a practice of simultaneous interpretation.The main problems encountered in this practice are analyzed and divided into following aspects: interpretation repetition and cumbersome,improper terminology terms interpretation,misinterpretation of appellative nouns and translation failure in product function publicity.The reasons for these problems are analyzed as well.This paper attempts to solve these problems by applying the zero translation strategy.The absolute zero translation strategy and the relative zero translation strategy are used to retouch the author's interpretation.The feasibility of the zero translation strategy application in the practice of interpretation is analyzed.After the application analysis of the zero translation strategy,the writer knows the guiding significance of the zero translation strategy to the practice of interpretation.It is concluded that the omission,transference,transliteration and compensation in the zero translation strategy should be flexibly used in the interpretation according to the actual situation and cannot be abused.The conclusion of the principle of reasonable simplicity should be followed.This paper points out the limitations of the practice of simulated interpretation and summarizes the shortcomings of this study.
