Museum is a cultural institution with comprehensive collection,display,education and research functions,among which the educational function is an indispensable and important part of modern museums.As one of the types of museums,the value and development of the educational function of art galleries have also attracted more and more attention.In recent years,with the development of society and the active support of the government,art galleries around the country are actively carrying out public education projects to attract more people into art galleries.This paper chooses a public education project carried out by a university art museum in a coastal provincial capital of Eastern China as the research object,and conducts a case study by using observation,interview and other research methods.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the background,orientation and general situation of Public Education Department of N Art Museum.The second part is to analyze the development and changes of public education in N Art Museum vertically from three dimensions:the goal,content and implementation of public education through sorting out the public education projects over the years.The summary is that the educational idea of serving the public with aesthetic education is unchanged,and the educational objectives are constantly enriched and deepened in practice.Facing different educational objects,we should constantly improve the pertinence of educational content,create comprehensive cross-border art education,and launch brand-oriented education projects.The means of implementing public education are becoming more and more intelligent.The third part is through detailed case analysis,comparing the characteristics and differences of different types of public education projects in N Art Museum horizontally and combining with the comparison with other public education projects in other art museums,sums up that the main public education in N Art Museum is the universality and pertinence of the educational objects,the diversification of educational contents,forms and experiences,the emphasis on the interaction and participation of the audience,the interest and knowledge.Integration of knowledge and type has four advantages.The main problems existing in the development of public education in N Art Museum are lack of continuity and depth of public education,unreasonable spatial planning,single mode of cooperative education between Library and school,imperfect evaluation system of public education,and lagging function of Museum webpage.In the fourth part,based on the reflection of public education in N Art Museum,the author puts forward six enlightenments for public education in China's Art Museum,promotes the process of community centralization,accelerates the training of public education talents,strengthens the cooperation between libraries and schools,strengthens the construction of educational facilities,improves the evaluation system of public education,and establishes the network education platform.
