Research On The Inheritance And Innovation Of Jade Carving Techniques Of Buddha Statues

The Jade Sculpture of Buddha is one of the important traditional sculpture techniques in China.Within numerous Jade sculptures,Buddha sculpture masters perfectly combined the amiable peace with solemn together during the formation of maturation of Buddha Jade sculpture.Therefore,the technique of Buddha Jade sculpture is not only an excellent example of Jade culture,but also exhibiting the historic change of Buddha culture after merging into traditional Chinese culture since introduction into china thousand years ago.In nowadays when the intangible culture heritage has been well preserved,the craving technique of Buddha Jade receives more attention and development.In this study,we analyzed the technique development of Buddha sculpture and the current status of technology heritage.After obtaining and organizing the data from different resources,we proposed several different thoughts to protect and inherit intangible Buddha Jade Sculpture techniques.We also studied the opportunities and challenges at current marketing situation.We suggested some policies to preserve and inherit those techniques showing extremely high market values.Our proposals for the protection of traditional intangible technique may also have some potential values for other similar techniques associated with Jade sculpture.
