The prison serves as the executing organ of the state with undertaking the task of punishing and reforming criminals.The accompishment of this task dep ends to a considerable extent on the quality and ability of the prison police.In order to enhance the law enforcement quality and ability of prison police,post-e mployment training becomes an important way and method.This paper adopts t he method of literature research,individual interview and questionnaire survey,ba sed on competency model,taked X prison as an example to analyze the post-e mployment training of Shanghai prison police.This paper argues that Shanghai prison system has made great progress in the post-employment training of priso n police after decades of unrenitting efforts,as follows:specialized training instit uions,diversified training methods,training content closed to the actual work and so on.But,you should see that there are still some obvious shortcoming in the post-employment training of prison police,so as training work is formalistic,s ome dissconnect between training content and actual needs,training staff is wee k,training methods are traditionally unitary and so on.The main cause of the ab ove problems lies in that prison leaders and police had a wrong understanding of training,system was not established based on job competency,training did not grasp the core of strengthening work motivation,evaluation of training effec t is unscientific and so on.Based on this,to improve the post-employment traini ng of Shanghai prison police,the following measures should be taken on the b asis of establishing the competency index system of Shanghai prison police:first,correct the understanding of the post-employment training:establish training is t he concept of human resources re-development,get rid of notion that training d ose not matter;secondly,establish a training system aiming at job competency:the basic goal of training is to improve the competence of the job,carry out clas sified and graded training;thirdly,to strengthen the sense of responsibility and w ork motivation as the fundamental goal of the post-employment training:enrich the training content,improve the training methods,strengthen the training of teac hers;finally,establish and improve the evaluation and use of training system:stric tly assesses the training effect,the effect of training and assessment will be lin ked to rewards,punishments appointments and other links.
