The concept of space is a basic mathematical ability of pupils,which is very important for cultivating students with initial innovative spirit and practical ability,and has a direct impact on people's daily life and learning."The Mathematics Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education Level(2011)" regards space concept as one of the top ten core concepts,which is sufficient to show that the country attaches great important to the concept of space.Primary school stage is an important period to the cultivation ofpupils'space concept,and it will also affect the students' future mathematics learning,especially to the students in the second learning moment who are from the concrete operation stage to the formal operation stage.Based on this,the study explores the present situation of students'spatial concepts.This study chooses almost five hundred pupils who are in the second learning moment as study object and uses the self-designed questionnaire,then theself-designed test paper analyzes and studies the current situation of students'spatial concepts,The conclusions of the study are as follows:First,In the dimensions of the concept of space,the ability of students to complete the three views is superior to other dimensions,and the ability to translate is weak.The second.Three views,unfolding view,direction and position,axisymmetric,translational,rotational,and spatial concepts total score have a significant positive correlation.The spatial concepts is closely related to each dimension.Third,There is no significant gender difference in the students' spatial concepts and other dimensions,but there are significant grade differences and school differences.In addition,there are significant differences in the spatial concepts between the students whether they like mathematics and the students whether they have extracurricular tutoring,and whether they like to do it.Fourth,Students in the spatial concept questions on the existence of the wrong thinking has the potential,rough sense,the concept of confusion and lack of spatial imagination.According to the above conclusions,the following suggestions are put forward to improve the concept of pupils' space:to emphasize pupils' interest in mathematics learning;to effectively analyze and make use of students 'misunderstanding of space concepts;to enhance students' awareness of space concepts and careful selection of teaching materials of space concepts;to strengthen concept teaching,A solid concept of space knowledge;diligent hands-on operation to enrich the appearance of space.
