Building blocks is a very popular game for children,and it is of great value to the development of children's mathematical cognition.This study explores the characteristics of mathematical learning in the construction of kindergarten building blocks by observing the children's free construction and teachers' guiding behaviors,discussing the characteristics of the age of mathematical learning in the building of 3?4 years old,4?5 years old and 5-6 years old groups and the support strategies of teachers in the construction area,and tries to put forward the corresponding suggestions from the perspective of supporting children's mathematical learning.In this study,the researcher used time sampling method to randomly select 115 children in small,medium and large age groups in Nanjing A kindergarten to observe and shoot the building blocks.The duration of observation is the time of one regional activity.The instructor's behavior is recorded at the same time.Through the observation and analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:first,the mathematical learning behavior of children aged 3-4 years is concentrated in symmetry(19.83%),geometric form(17.75%),combination of shapes(11.69%),the pattern(8.98%),Spatial orientation(8.77%),length measurement(8.56%),the comparison of two continuous quantities(8.14%);The mathematical learning behavior of children.aged 4-5 years is concentrated in symmetry(22.10%),geometric form(18.66%),Spatial orientation(14.13%),combination of shapes(13.77%),length measurement(7.79%),the pattern(6.52%),counting(5.98%);The mathematical learning behavior of children aged 5?6 years is concentrated in symmetry(24.07%),combination of shapes(15.85%),spatial orientation(15.85%),the geometric form(12.52%),the pattern(8.22%),subitizing(6.07%)and Second,3?6 year old children's mathematical learning behaviors in building blocks are mainly in:symmetry,geometric form,combination of shapes,Spatial orientation,pattern,length measurement.Third,the teacher has not yet been able to attach importance to and support children's mathematical learning in the building blocks,the mathematical guidance only accounted for 9.84%.In view of the characteristics of mathematical learning behavior of different age groups and teachers' guidance tendency in Building blocks,the researcher tries to put forward feasible suggestions:First,improving the sensitivity of children's mathematics learning behavior;Second,giving special attention and guidance to the high mathematics learning behavior in the building blocks;Third,focusing on the children of all ages according to the mathematics learning behavior in accordance with their aptitude;Fourth,providing appropriate materials to promote the occurrence of children's mathematics learning.It is expected that kindergarten teachers will be able to obtain some useful information from the results of this study,promoting their own professional quality,and be more targeted to guide the children blocks game in teaching practice.
