Since the reform of basic education,higher requirements on the quality of teachers has been put forward in China.Along with it,teachers are confronting with unprecedented challenges in the development of education.At present,the profession of teachers in rural areas is not widely favored,which gives rise to the problem that both new teachers and experienced teachers are unwilling to work in the schools of rural areas.Thus,the number of teachers in rural areas are in great need,and the quality of rural teacher is relatively poor.It seriously hinders the overall development of education in China.In this thesis,the author will drain the loss of rural teachers as the breakthrough point of the research,Collecting previous researches on this topic and analyzing these studies,summary of different levels,the loss of teachers in rural development direction,the author find the shortage of previous researches which lays a basis for to determine the purpose of this research and space.Through literature review,the author finds out that some achievements have been made to solve the loss of rural teacher,but the number of studies on the loss of rural teacher from the perspective of teachers' professional development are still small on a relative basis.Therefore,the problem of the loss of rural teachers has not been totally solved.There are many factors that influencing the loss of rural teachers.The key factor,however,is that the conditions required for the professional development of rural teachers are not well provided.Much room has been left for the present study to explore how to promote rural teacher's professional development.The author in this thesis adopts teachers' professional development as the research perspective.Firstly,the core concepts in the thesis is defined.The factors of society,schools and teachers themselves,which influence rural teacher's professional development,are further elaborated.At the same time,the internal relationship between the three factors and the loss of rural teachers is expounded.Secondly,five primary and secondary schools in the rural areas of X county in Guangxi province are randomly selected as the sample of this research.Through employing the methods of questionnaire and interview,the author in the thesis analyzes the loss of teachers' professional development in X county and explores relevant factors.From the perspective of professional development,this paper analyzes the reasons for the loss of rural teachers from the three factors of social development,the micro-environment of school development and teachers'consciousness of personal professional development.Through analysis of these three aspects,the reasons for the loss of rural teachers in the county are summarized as follows.The social policies are not in place,the rural teachers are poorly paid,and the social status of rural teachers is not high;The rural school environment development is not ideal,the school management level is low,the teachers'professional study atmosphere is not strong and rural teachers themselves lack the awareness of self-development.These factors lead to the result that Teachers'Professional Development is limited,and they feel uncomfortable to teach in rural areas,so they will easily choose to leave for better schools once they have the opportunity.Finally,based on the above analysis of the loss of rural teachers in X county of Guangxi province from the perspective of professional development.The author in this thesis puts forward some solutions.The environment of rural teachers' professional development should be guaranteed in the design concept.It mainly consists of the following three aspects.At first,the input of education fund can guarantee rural teachers' development,optimize the environment of rural teachers' professional development and reassure the rural teachers' teaching.Then,the micro-environment of school development should be optimize and the professional development space of rural teachers should be expanded.Besides,teachers should improve their consciousness of professional self-development,stimulate their own motivation of professional development,strengthen self-evaluation and reflection,and set up the notion of lifelong learning.
