Local Chronicles,also known as chorography,are comprehensive works recording local history,culture,economy and social conditions.Local Chronicles in China have a long history,rich content and large quantity.They are precious historical and cultural heritage in China and have important reference value.But so far,few people have combined the study of local Chronicles with the teaching of junior high school history.According to experts,local Chronicles have the characteristics of regional,universality,informative and educational.From the perspective of history education,it is conducive to history curriculum reform,helps students learn historical knowledge,and helps to cultivate students’ core historical literacy.Therefore,it can be applied to history teaching in junior high school.There are nearly 10,000 local Chronicles in China.Taking luoyang as an example,there are 47 old ones and a considerable number of new ones.These local records preserve a lot of historical celebrities,major events,cultural relics and historic sites and people’s livelihood,most of them have a certain relationship with the content ofjunior high school history textbooks,which can be matched with junior high school history textbooks and play a complementary roleAt present,some middle school teachers in the Luoyang area have noticed the importance of local Chronicles,but there are also problems such as insufficient attention to local Chronicles,lack of access to local Chronicles,inappropriate use of local Chronicles,or objective conditions.Failure to use local historical data well in teaching.Therefore,effective measures should be taken to strengthen the application of local records in the history teaching of junior high schoolThe application of local historical data should follow the three principles of avoiding arrogance,eliminating nonsense,and adhering to the flexible application.It can use the conversion evaluation mechanism to stimulate students’interest;Use the second class to enrich the teaching connotation;Strengthen teacher training and change ideas;Increase the publicity of local records and promote the reading of records etc.to make local chronicles effective in teaching and application.
